GED Testing Center
GED Testing
The Testing Center is certified to administer GED exams. The five tests that are offered include: language arts/writing, language arts/reading, social studies, science and math. Total testing time for all five exams is just over seven hours. Tests are spread over two days, allowing candidates an opportunity to structure test-taking times around work and other personal responsibilities. The cost for the first five exams is $65. Re-tests are $15 per exam.
GED Tests: What You Need To Know
At this time the American Council on Education does not offer the official GED test online. OLT courses prepare you to successfully pass the GED Examination tests. You can prepare for the tests by studying by yourself, in an adult education classroom, or online with an educational program like OLT. You can take classes and practice tests online but everyone must take the official test at a land-based testing center, usually located at a school or community college.

Find A GED® Testing Center
Before visiting an official GED® Testing Center, please call to confirm the operating hours because center hours vary. While most centers are open during normal business hours on weekdays, some of them are open during evening hours and weekends as well. Many centers operate additional sites where you can take the GED® Tests. These sites are not listed on this web site. Once you have located the nearest center based on your ZIP Code, we suggest that you call the center to find out if they offer testing at an additional site closer to you.
