GED Testing
The Testing Center is certified to administer GED exams. The five tests that are offered include: language arts/writing, language arts/reading, social studies, science and math. Total testing time for all five exams is just over seven hours. Tests are spread over two days, allowing candidates an opportunity to structure test-taking times around work and other personal responsibilities. The cost for the first five exams is $65. Re-tests are $15 per exam.

The ESL/GED Tech Center
Free, online GED instruction in math, reading and writing. Also includes test taking and Beyond the GED sections. Math includes: whole numbers, decimals, fraction, percents, pre-algebra, geometry. Reading includes: current events, science, history, literature. Writing includes essay writing and grammar. Test taking includes online practice tests and multiple choice test-taking tips. Beyond the GED includes next steps to post-secondary education and work.

GED Preparation
This test prep course will focus on the basic skills necessary to successfully complete the GED essay (GED Language and Arts Writing Test Part 2). The majority of students preparing to take a GED test will often have the greatest problem with the essay exam. GED students often lack the confidence, the experience, and the skills required to write a passing essay. This course will provide each of these factors; and GED students will gain the confidence (because of course informational tips and strategies), and gain experience and skills (with the course writing essay practice and grammar review) to successfully tackle the GED essay test.

GED Connection
How to Start with GED Connection Online Lessons: start with a practice test to see what you know already and plan your study accordingly. Take the GED practice test #1 in each subject area before you begin the learning modules or the quizzes in that subject area. If you need help in that area, do that GED subject area module or one or more of the Internet Activites/Quizzes before you go on to take other practice tests.

GED Tests: What You Need To Know
At this time the American Council on Education does not offer the official GED test online. OLT courses prepare you to successfully pass the GED Examination tests. You can prepare for the tests by studying by yourself, in an adult education classroom, or online with an educational program like OLT. You can take classes and practice tests online but everyone must take the official test at a land-based testing center, usually located at a school or community college.
